One of the main reasons for accessing the Internet is to exchange communication through electronic-mail, (Email).  As a result there are a variety of means of accessing your email and replying.  One of these means is to download the email from an ISP's server to your computer and access it through a program.  There are many programs available as listed below:

Probably the most commonly used series of applications, suitable to run on Microsoft devices, such as Windows XP, and Windows Mobile hardware.  Through the years several programs have been released each with their each setup for new accounts and administration of existing accounts.

Microsoft's biggest rival has always been Apple from the start of computers and software.  Apple have produced their own hardware and software suites.

A growing rise in the "market" of application is open source, where the software is developed and released freely.  The application is not supported in the usual means, there are dozens of forums and communities providing support and so feedback is essential for this to work.

Compared to Microsoft and Apple, open source software has only recently hit the general public with a positive effect.  It has been around longer than the two, in the form of unix and linux systems with software packages to match.  The applications listed below are ones that are mentioned most and have been used within Internet Central at some point.
