So it uses microwave links and fibre, this however does not affect the manor in how you connect to the Internet, the hardware installed takes care of the links and connections allowing you to browse the Internet as if you were connecting through a simple router on broadband.

  • Step 1
An ethernet router is installed onto your network and it is this you interface with, this in turn links directly to the radio.  The router has four 10/100 ethernet ports, capable of supporting up to 16 VPN tunnels, uPNP and many other features.
  • Step 2
First, a small unobtrusive dish is installed on your premise in a location to receive the best signal from one or more than one of our base stations located within the coverage area.
  • Step 3a
Next, the base station will connect straight to our data centre either through fibre or other microwave links to ensure connectivity.  From our data centre the request is sent straight onto the Internet through upstream providers or direct peering into MaNAP.

  • Step 3b
If your connection is installed to perform a private circuit amongst networks within a company the signal can be sent to another premise rather than breaking out on the Internet.
